Student Outcomes

  1. Knowledge, attitude and ability to meet the reproductive health needs of women in all phases of women's life with sufficient knowledge on human, health, concepts and theories that form the basis of professional practices of midwifery.
  2. The ability to protect, maintain and develop the physical, psychological and social health of the mother, newborn and family in the pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth and postpartum period by using the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of midwifery, and to deal with it with a holistic understanding and to develop evidence-based solution suggestions.
  3. Being aware of the concept of health; the woman's ability to identify the midwifery-related service needs of the family and society, and to provide necessary services, including health education, counseling, and care, while protecting the rights of the newborn.
  4. Ability to use lifelong learning, problem/problem solving, critical thinking, research, decision making and leadership skills in midwifery practices throughout professional life.
  5. The ability to make developments in the field of midwifery by using information and care technologies, to make all professional practices, to provide information and consultancy.
  6. The ability to communicate effectively with women, mothers, individuals, families and society in midwifery practices, and to provide culturally sensitive (transcultural) care.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively in Turkish orally and in writing, to use at least one foreign language with the ability to give and receive clear and understandable instructions, to follow the national and international literature specific to the profession, to communicate with team members and to care for foreign patients.
  8. The ability to identify learning needs as a member of the healthcare team, to use multidisciplinary approaches, to cooperate with other disciplines and to participate in research and projects, social and social activities that will contribute to their professional development and society in cooperation.
  9. In addition to the knowledge and equipment related to the field of midwifery, the ability to develop social, cultural and intellectual aspects and to act in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and professional ethical values.
  10. Ability to present midwifery practices in accordance with cultural characteristics, ethical principles, quality management, relevant laws, regulations and legislation.
  11. Ability to work effectively in national and international disciplinary or interdisciplinary teams or independently in scientific research and projects related to the field, to take responsibility, to analyze the results of scientific studies, to interpret, to report in writing and orally.
